Are you experiencing problems in your life or your relationships?
Life is a journey full of complexity. When we are born, we do not get an instruction manual to tell us "how to live". Yet, so many of us are often asking the question "What should I do?" hoping for someone else to give us the answers. Problems can often convince us that we have done something wrong ("I have failed as a parent", "I married the wrong person"), that we are the problem ("I am a bad person", "I am a failure"), or that other people we are in relationship with are the problem ("if s/he would just do this, my life would be fine"). I believe problems exist "outside" of people and problems show up "between" relationships. My approach is based on the ideas that if we can understand what the problems are in our lives, the effects of these problems, and what would be possible for us if these problems did not have the same kind of impact on our lives, then space for agency, choice and change is created. My role is to facilitate a process where you can understand, discover, or come to know the answers that fit for you.
As a therapist, I work to facilitate the process of therapy to co-create a space where you or your family can think through your preferred way to be in relationship to the problem (s) impacting you, yourself, one another, and the world. My therapeutic stance is greatly influenced by Narrative Therapy, Family Therapy and Systems theory as well as a holistic view of our wellness and health. I shape my offerings to what my clients identify as most helpful.
